Hi,
I'm the happy owner of a XM from 1990, which has served me quite well for several years.
Lately I discovered a leakage in the hydraulics of the steering system where two sealings and 3 O-rings may be worn.
Unfortunately my local Citroen dealer just suggests to by another steering system as no repair kit is apparently available from Citroen????
On the 2 Sealings a number is stated:
1) Bendix B334519
2) BAD 1 FSL 0,5 ORWX7 20325 OFW1. F
Have any of you an idea where I could get these items??

Getting the rack out,and in again is such a pig of a job that I would be inclined to fit a recon rack. GSF do them for about £160 but they charge about the same again as a deposit, presumably to make sure they get the old one back. The only job I have done that was more difficult was the head gasket. You need good access to the underneath of the car and plenty of patience!

P.S. Make sure you get the right one for the car, the hydraulic connections can be different sizes.

Part Number 4048 Q8 has been available for years. I suggest you ask your parts man to check his microfiche , or whatever. It helps to have the special kit of tools to ease the task of getting the o-rings to go back in and to fit them on the shaft before that. Workshop manual ref XM 444-3/2 gives all the information.
