Not an XM i know, but...

I just started my activa, and set the suspension to high to get it off the grass, and i saw steam from under the bonnet, and the suspension didn't move.

I stopped the engine, lifted the bonnet and with a torch i can see that there is LHM Oil all over the engine bay. And the front drivers side sphere is soaking wet, looks like its leaking from the nipple on the front of the sphere.

Anyone else ever experienced this? Also can i just replace the one sphere safely?
Regards
David.

Hi David

Its not worth changing one only! Being an Activa it may well have its own type. I've never had anything to do with an Activa System.

Its absolute best practice to change them in pairs!!

You'll have equal gas pressure on both sides then. I guess it would affect any handling if they were un even.. Think of it like having a Worn shock on one side on a Normal boring car ,,

Our local scrapper sell spheres a tenner each!! and you get to try before you buy. I got two today for one of my Xantia, and they were as fresh as BRAND NEW!!

Lovvvvlllyyyyyy!!!!!

I have heard of spheres going. I guess the small seal behind the "nipple" has failed, theres nothing else that can, unless its the seal around the main thread were it screws into the strut...
