Yeah, or maybe a double spoke one like mine. I guess the controls on Dean's wheel are more like on a S2 XM than a S1, though.
I havn't tried a car with single spoke wheel but I'd like to, I MUCH prefer the dual spoke
non-airbag one in my Presteige to the 4 spoke S2 one, both because its thicker to hold and because of the placement of the spokes (I do have quite bad RSI/wrist issues). The only place the S2 wheel wins is on the stereo control, and airbag I guess, though I don;t tend to drive like I need one especially in the S1.
Oh and Dean, get a photobucket account, its so much better with inline images. I set it up in no time yesterday. Sure, I know how to download the attached images, but its slow.

Hi gents
Yes i know the xant steering wheel is a bit bad (hangs head in shame

) but it is thicker than the standard wheels and feels nicer, the stereo buttons illuminate as well

I have spare single and double spoke mk1 steering wheels in the garage just in case i change my mind and want to swap back.

just curiously Dean, do the controls still work the steering? Im aware the connector to the buttons are the same behind the boss cover, but does it actually function the radio??

I'm thinking the same thing - I actually don't mind the early Xantia wheel with the
decent stereo controls. Far nicer than that big blobby s2 thing too!
If I want to pilot a big single spoke wheel that's just the excuse I need to drive a CX...

Hi gents
The steering wheel controls do not work, although i have wired them in so that they illuminate

.
The connector on my original two spoke wheel has four pins and the xantia wheel has 6, presumably because it has 2 way, illuminated buttons rather than the simple xm ones, I am sure it would work with a xantia lead and the little disc that transits the current to the wheel, but i have never got round to it, there has always been something else that wants doing

next time I'm in the dash though.............

I think if you follow the Xantia's loom further in it'd be interesting to see if there
was a chance of easy compatibility. Be nice to know though!!

Hi Andrew
I'm sure it would be easy, i keep meaning to get into the local scrappy and get the necessary parts off a xant while there is still plenty of them in there, and if i had the xant wiring then there would be a greater chance of me getting off my backside and doing something with mine

hard to get motivated when its cold and dark outside though
