R Reg Metallic Blue Hatch VSX, heading out of Brum along Kingsbury Road bit after 11 this morning ? Petrol, I guess, as it had an 'I run on gas' sticker, or something to that effect. Very tidy looking.

Spent a few days in Kent this week. Saw the occasional interesting Citroen. Light blue DS on Tuesday late afternoon going westwards at speed on the east end of the A272. Then on Wednesday dinnertime at Sandwich found someone waiting by the car as we came back from lunch and a walk. He introduced himself. A Dutchman working in this country and regularly driving to and from Holland. He pointed out his Blue LHD XM now running on gas. A late 99 manual car in very good condition that had done some 120,000 km. Gave him the website address so we may see him on here. Then on Thursday afternoon while walking by the curio shops in the old town a GREEN Mk2 XM car with personal reg came past us.

Burgundy Saloon in the middle of Merstham at about 7:30 this morning? I was so surprised I didn't even notice if it was a Mk I or Mk II let alone age etc. I think it must have headed off towards the M25 though didn't see where it went.

White estate (S reg I think) just coming up Cotham Brow from the Arches about an hour ago (Bristol)

I was amazed ohmy.gif to see an XM parked in Waitrose car park in Otley this evening - maroon S1 diesel with personalised number plate.

On the way out of Waitrose I was even more amazed ohmy.gif ohmy.gif to see a green S2 VSX 2.0 turbo parked in the same car park...........was it an XM convention? tongue.gif .
I also know of another green XM in the area (I've seen it several times).

And there's a silver one I see occasionally.

There's also a bloke lives somewhere nearby with a 2.5 that has a knackered head gasket, he stopped for a chat a few months back.

That's five XM's (not including mine) in a very small area.........and as far as I know none of them visit this forum.

This has me wondering..........if my situation is typical, and there's an average of five 'none forum member' XM owners for every forum member, there must be around five thousand XM's out there somewhere unsure.gif

........................that's the thing I hate about XM's............common as muck......... tongue.gif

I think ours is the only Xm in our town. I did used to see a red exclusive, always bumping along with no suspension but ive not seen that for months now.

There was also a guy around the corner who had two s1s in maroon, one was parked in the garden for years, but both have now gone.

I rarely spot another Xm, not a common sight! Xms seem very thin on the ground around here.

As i was pulling into tesocs this evening, some people were getting out of a xantia. They were looking at the Xm until i eventually found a car space. They are so easily noticable and they do get a lot of admiring (sometimes maybe not so) looks.

Hi Minijet.

Doesn't surprise me overmuch. Going back a few years when XMs were appearing at auction, it was noticeable that the various auctions in the Leeds area had many more XMs (relatively) going around than the sales further South. I suspect there must either have been one or two particularly active dealers in the area, or Citoen used some facility in the area to feed their pre - reg ones into the market.
Ther have always been some interesting regional differences with the auctions. Again, a few years ago, they couldn't give Rovers away here in the Midlands, yet go down to the Southwest and people were bidding proper money for them.
I notice at the minute there is a small clutch of C6s at Measham, so eyes out on the local forecourts !
