Double Chevron,
Thanks for your assitance, I'll have a look.
Do you know of any threads I can follow to trace the splutter / mis-fire on light accelleration ?
I've tried the petrol additive to clean the injectors, cleaned all the connectors, and replaced the plugs, leads and coil, all without effect.
Mine is a 2.0i turbo s1.5 (two spoke steering). I understood it had anti-sink - because it has a sphere behind / underneath the engine near the floor-pan cross member ? Is this not the case - it sinks down very quickly anyway - so I assumed the sphere was 'flat'.
And another thing. Ha ha.
Where does the digi display take it's info from to keep flashing up "Brake maintenance" and something like "Renew brakepads" each time I brake, despite the pads being new.

Simon

Hi Simon
No Mk1's had antisink. At Mk2 launch for the 1995 model year only some of the Mk2 models had antisink and it took a few years for Citroen to offer it on all types of new XM.
The Prestige branding of XM's was used by Citroen in the UK late in the Mk1 production run to face lift some of the bottom of the range XM's using leather seats and alloy wheels. They were a bit light on technical changes and improvements that model year and presumably had cars to shift before the introduction of the Mk2's the following model year.

Hi XMexc,
How is the collection? Hope you are well and continuing to ensure the longevity of lost of XMs. I beg to differ with your opinion of what constitutes a Prestige, obviously I am biased, but I think it may be more complicated than you think.
As you know I have a Series 1.5 Prestige (you have ridden in it). A friend of mine has a Series 1 SEi which I understand was prettey luxurious in it's time. His car has an ORGA number 40 less than mine so was built 40 days before mine was. When we compare specifications his car and my car are IDENTICAL. So my Prestige is a re-badged SEi.

BigJohnH
Does your friends SEi have cruise control?? Does your Prestige have cruise control?
I'm sure your Prestige Doesn't, and if your friends SEi Does then your theroy is NOT right too..
Late Sei's from 1992 had cruise control added, I dont think prestige do have cruise, so therefore arent a re badged SEi...
And ALL SEi's had the DOT matrix info dosplay, and Door pockets DrTims DOESN't Have either....
So theres two clues, I'd rather say xmexec's theroy is correct..

Hi All
Humble pie time I think.
I have checked and BigJohnh is right.
Dr Tim's car is I suspect a 'Premiere' and not a 'Prestige'.
The names were used in the UK for special editions of 2.0 petrols with:
'Premiere' a 2.0i
'Onyx' a 2.0Si
'Prestige' a 2.0SEi

Hi all
Mine is a prestige 1.5, it has leather, abs, digital climate, a/c plus the usual electric windows, mirrors and roof, rear cigar lighter and power take off socket under a flap bellow the ashtray. I do NOT have front door pockets, but i do in the back

i have no dot matrix display or cruise, neither do i have the curtsy lights in the doors or electric seats, and there is no hinges for a rear screen so i presume there never was one..............i did successfully fit the adjustable intermittent wiper stalk last weekend though
Hope this helps

Sorry, John,
Forgot to ask. Is everything in working order?
And how about ICE: audio, TV, CD changer, cassette playback, navigation, electric arm rest?

Sorry about this, getting back to the original topic....CD changers.
"Late S1.5 cars with the clarion RDS units use the Clarion CDC9250 6 disk changer"
Is it possible to fit this Cd player into an S2 car with S2 radio? If not where can I find a CD player that will fit an S2 car?
-----
and on the previous thread... i used to have an 1990 Sei 2litre that had everything bar a Cd player and heated seats.
had a 1993 Si that also had everything except air-con, leather, and heated seats. It had the 2 prong steering wheel. With 1993 you also get the explosive pretensioners on the seat belts.
------
I thought that some Prestige cars had manual leather seats unlke the electric leather seats in the Sei...
Cheers

Hi Kiwi
Yes, it is nearly a straight swap but you have to move one pin in the connector block or you will have everything except wash wipe. it is very obvious which contact wants moving when you compare the switches, it just has to be moved to the row above.
since i was in the dash putting the new clock in (thanks xmexc) and doing some bulbs i thought i might as well change the stalk as well, its an extra button!!!!! and buttons are cool

Hi Archman1
I think you will find that the cd that work fully with the XM radio's use a round 13 pin DIN plug with a short converter cable (750mm) at the radio end. The same CD playes work off the Mk2 Phillips radio and there is a similar short converter cable to link to the main 13 pin cable. Sorry do not know a source of new cables but I have found and recovered secondhand ones from Xantias and Pug 406's. Not all the wires are used in the 13pin cable but it was used as standard for factory fit Audio through out the XM production run.
Heated seats came standard on some of the the upmarket V6's only. They were a pay heavily (£450 in the 1993 promotion, leather was £985 & A/C £1420) and wait for your personally made car option on some other models.
