I Need a spare wheel carrier for my 2.5td Hatch.
Mine's rusted & broken.

When the tinware on mine rusted away a few years back I stripped it back to the framework with an angle grinder, welded on more reinforcing rods, painted it and put it back. Obviously the spare wheel and jack etc are more exposed to road muck + salt + exhaust heat but wrapping the wheel in a couple of heavy plastic bags minimises this exposure.

I think that's the way I'll have to go + maybe make up some more "tinware" to protect it.
