I assume you mean the Door Moulded trim along the centre of the door with the "Crome" trim in it??

Yes iti is the black trim with chrome in it Shaun

The trim can come in Grey (early cars) or Black plastic.
It can also be car body Colour Coded on the top end XM's.
So made in two types of Black finish.
The silver trim strips regularly bubble and go white particularly at the ends.
Sets of stainless steel replacement are available.
A couple of suppliers have posted details on here.

Yes, I can find you a black plastic one but not a black painted colour coded one.
May take a bit of searching out.
Had expected one of the more regular XM part sellers to offer you one.
I try not to poach their business.
