Help Just about put the car back together following a head gasket change but need to be sure this pipe is in the correct place. It goes from the intercooler to some device on top of the pump ?? Many thanks Phil Ps it's a 2.1 td 1996

Yep, that's correct. The thing on the top of the pump is a pressure sensor, it adjusts the ammount of fuel according to the turbo boost pressure.

Its real name - or full name is the Turbo Over Fueling Device..
As peter says, it senses the turbo boost in the intercooler, and the boost presses a diaphram which adjusts the fueling - to give you the shove in the back ***
