Has anyone tried to get on ebay recently? What a joke. Are they trying to bankrupt themselves? Some new little gizmo called "include.ebaystatic.com takes up to a minute to open a page! Apparently it loads the pictures!

I wouldn't even waste my time bidding, it would be a lottery. At least they've given it a good name, "ebaystatic". It is VERY static.

I haven't had that, at least I don't think so. I've just bought a car on ebay, first place I go for anything, cheaper than the shops and I don't have to go out. cool.gif

Hi XMX

No, I'm afraid not, I did go and look at it though, to much rust in it for me, the bottom of the tyres were buried in the ground, looks as though the grass had been cut round it for several years! I'm embarassed to say it was this one:

Hi Dave,

It must be your PC i'm afraid. Its OK here.

I use Firefox with ADblock Plus which blocks all the trash and flashy lights. Having said that, include.ebaystatic.com is not an element which is blocked and it loads in the normal time on mine.

Can I suggest you clear out your internet cache and if that does not work then your cookie cache also?

It might be worth checking with a different PC or laptop to narrow dow the problem to your PC or ebay.

As another suggestion, it sounds like a DNS problem to me. Check the embedded web server inside your router for any DNS errors. If so, reset the router to flush the DNS cache.

Please let me know if I need to explain any of the above in more detail.

Cheers

Peter, I don't know why the 'Attached down-load file' part of your last post is needed (As the fist link worked fine ) only the down-load link is telling me I have won the auction and asking to pay for it laugh.gif

Ah well at least it's a Diesel Estate in Silver, how will you go about pulling out the N/S sill Peter ?

I suggest to go to a body shop which can resistance/spot weld a threaded stud fastener in two or three places and then they attach a small slide hammer/device to pull the dent out to a reasonable true shape condition.
They then grind off the threaded stud and just level off any minor undulations with a very small skim of body filler and sanding true to shape prior to repainting.

Noz,
Cannot the colour for hyper-link's ( ) be changed to default to a BLUE or GREEN as on other forum's so as the link's are not the same colour as the main text forum/format ?

As these link's on the new/revised forum template are difficult to spot/decipher when reading thro' the thread/posting unless you just happen to be just hovering over the link with the mouse/pointer to make it turn brown, hence that's why I use under-lined UPPER-CASE FONT to make the links stand out.

Hi Dave

Thanks for the offer but we have to get the BMW over to Heanor to my friend who is buying it before about 5.00 pm as my wife doesn't like driving in the dark, otherwise I would have taken you up. We shall be hopefully leaving here about 10.00, I say hopefully smile.gif

I didn't conciously put the 'download file' on there, it just appeared ohmy.gif . Yes I have a silver estate now but I didn't buy it specifically for the colour smile.gif I would rather have had an XM but all the manual S2, 2.1s seem to have gone now, although there will probably be one on tommorrow mad.gif

I have always said I wouldn't have an Hdi but having done an in depth investigation it seems that the early 8 valve engines are pretty reliable, there are a couple on ebay with in excess of 300,000 miles on them. Its really a case of if you cant beat them, join them biggrin.gif

Hi XMX

Having looked at the sill I think its beyond redemtion so I think I will fit another over the top, to preserve the integrity of the galvanising I will probably glue it on.

The car is very nice otherwise.

Thanks Noz,

Cleared out all the crap and reset the router and its fine now.

Wonder what that was then?

Wow Peter with an HDi.

So will you be swapping the engine into a XM....

Steve.
Peter.N.
Its a question of 'if you can't beat them, join them' Steve, the answer to the question is NO.
