Hi Eveyone.
On my SECOND V6 XM now. I had an Auto Series one V6 on gas, then a 1991 J reg BLACK one (12 valve) turned up, which had been converted to Manual.
I jumped at it being black, and enjoyed the manual pleasure but unfortunally the gearbox has packed up
1st and 2nd gears sound like a CAT squeeling, and theres the useual rummbling too. Its now dumped the gear oil all over the road from a shaft seal
So basically WANTED: A manual V6 Gearbox.. (Does any one know if they are the same as the Turbo Cars??)
Many thanks

Hi Citroenxm and all
I have had a look in the Russek manuals for gear box info.
For Petrol cars he says:
5 speed gearbox type BE3 fitted to 4 cyl models, type ME 5T fitted to V6 models.
V6 from 1995 with new MG5TB transmission.
For Diesel cars he says:
5 speed gearbox type BE3 fitted to standard diesel models, type ME 5T or ME 5TB fitted to turbo diesel models. Transmission type MG 5T fitted to 2.5 turbo diesel
Hope this helps.

Hi xmexec
Thankyou for that.
I'm a Diesel freak by heart, its just that I fitted an LPG kit to the Black XM so VERY cheap to run....
So I hearby ask, wouldn't the Diesel Gear Ratios be too short for a lovly V6 revving engine?? Or the ratios the same??
DERVS rev to about 5000rpm , V6 rev to 6000rpm ..
Thanks for any further info.

Hi Paul
Russek gives an A4 page of gear ratios in each manual (diesel & petrol) and notes that this is not a complete list. I was hoping you would not ask as I did not fancy trying to check it let alone copy it out. Email me with an address and I will send you copies.
