Some words about me. I am 43 years old PM from IT area. My main hobby is to keep some old cars going. At the moment I have XM 2.1td '98 as mentioned an other side of this site and 2CV4 '75 with 2CV6 tech.

I have had a lot of different cars from toyota to dodge during my 'career' but the leading number has Citroën, 7 (if count my wifes new C5 ). Second is MB with 6 pieces. My nic comes from the mercedes side, it is nickname of my first MB '64.

So, if you google my nic you can find me from many very strange sites

Where did you get your headlights then

More to the point, do they just look fancy or do they make a difference.
Mind, anything nicked off a new Beemer is likely to be better than Xm dipped lights!

Like the 2CV - looks remarkably clean and straight - not sure about a "kustom look"
as these have become a real rarity now - seems paranoia PC and rusty chassis' have
culled them all in the UK.

About the headlamps...

First you need normal S1 (or Y3?) headlamps. Then clean all staff away inside from them.

Lowbeams are Hella Part no.: 1BL 009 071-001 http://b2c.hella.com/b2c_hella/b2c/init.do...o.xcm=hella_com
- Light modules
- Front
- Premium headlight modules

I think they have special ones for left side traffic.

You also need the mounting kit which fits quite well inside the headlamps. (Edit: If I remember correcly... 9AH 161 786 017)

Highbeams are just small extra lights from local car part seller called "Biltema".

You should drill some holes to the bottom and the top of the cover of the headlamp for avoiding over heating. And let caps from behind to the table too.

And one tip, do the light piping before you close the covering class.

The change from the original headlamps takes about 2 hours, if them on the table.

The kustom look of my 2cv means basically lower suspension and older outfit...

Old fashion bonnet on, and 'opera windows' away. The color will be the same.

The condition of the car is perfect for customizing. No rust, the tech is changed by previous owner, some changes done already.

Some updates...

Yesterday I started a project around my Xm. I am taking off engine and transmission because of starange vibration. I finally deside to investicate a source for that problem.

I think the vibration comes from flywheel which got some damages when this car was equipted with automatic transmission. Anyway I have an other flywheel and transmission waiting.

I sold my 2cv about year ago. Now I have ami8 as my hobby...
