Hi, spotted this earlier on : http://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/37286591.htm?ca=17_s
Makes a change from the usual XM engined 205s.
XM v6 sadist
Hi

What irony it would be to scrap the 205 to put the engine back into an XM biggrin.gif

Cheers

I've just bought a 2.0i TCT Xm engine that was bought by an engine swap merchant to
save one of my Activa's from being scrapped. Wahay!!

Unfortunately, the Xm was scrapped as it had a leaky steering rack! sad.gif

Not the usual boy racer engine though, a 12v TD for the speed freak with his mind on economy huh.gif

Surely a proper Citroen orientated speedfreak would have a 24v v6 motor - or a 2.5TD!? biggrin.gif

I bet that's pretty fast, its probably not much heavier than a BX diesel and they went like a rocket - with a 90 bhp engine! ohmy.gif biggrin.gif

I'll have to show my mate this, he's into 205s, XM's and BX's, he wanted to fit a 1.7td into his C15 van but I reckon this would be a better challenge. Not sure how you'd stop it mind. wacko.gif

Very true, i saw a blog somewhere of a guy who put a 12v in a BX and fettled the gear ratio's, apparently that went very well. But why bother with the pug?, i mean a tiny little car like the 205 with a 2l turbo engine and minor tweaking will give 200bhp and well over 100bhp/tonne which is far more interesting than anything you could coax out of the derv. Yet if he wanted a bit more poke, but sensible, why not get another car? surely a 205 isnt an interesting enough body shell to go through all that and come out the other side with an economical torqey diesel huh.gif i think you can buy them for £400, their called 1.7 TZD/DTR BX's biggrin.gif

Obviously a diesel nut. I used to put diesels in everything biggrin.gif ohmy.gif

That can't bee too difficult surely?

It would suit our van much better than its current engine, since it weighs as much as a normal van fully laiden, when its empty!

Some people say the C15s have awful brake, but they depand largey on what pads you have. Ours stops on a sixpence! Although it has have 6 brakes i suppose.

I was considering the 2.1 TD engine to go in our 6 wheel C15 but I wasn`t sure what gearbox/flywheel would fit as we only have auto engines. I did wonder if you could use BX TD flywheel and clutch with a converted Xantia TD box. The other problem would be how the turbo would fit.
Citroenmad
Its you with the other 6 wheel C15!!! ohmy.gif

Have you thought about the BX TD engine for yours?
They are a little slow as standard arnt they. We did a 2cv run in ours a few weeks ago, it was faster than the 2cvs, just! laugh.gif

Have you seen the blue C15 with the 16v BX engine, thats supposed to go quite well!

Do you have an Xm as well?

Hi, I did consider a BX TD engine, but instead I`ve a zx 1.9TD which I thought I`d use the BX intercooler and gearbox with just never got round to sorting it.
I`ve also got a 16v BX engine that I considered but thought it would be wasted in the six wheel, so I was saving it for my Visa GTi.

Brake wise the van is useless wanting to lock the rears most of the time. How are yours set up? Do you use a different master cylinder to the standard one?

Cheers, Andrew

You will find that the 1.9td engine in the BX will be a lot faster than in the ZX, in fact the 1.7 engine is faster - I know, I've had both.
