Full Version Estate Shell, Maybe

Hi all.

After considerable pondering and an inbuilt unwillingness to consign a basically decent 2.5 estate to oblivion, I have still come to the conclusion that for me it makes most sense to dismantle my periodically overheating 2.5 as a parts reservoir for the one I am now running, particularly as it is mechanically and colour identical. This means in due course I will have a shell, which I don't think has any sill corrosion. If it is of any interest to anyone, let me know. Free to a good home. May be able to deliver if necessary, although obviously I would want the fuel cost.
I am not looking at starting to dismantle for several weeks yet and if you are interested, you are welcome to view. (North Staffs) If you can't bear the thought of it being broken, a fat cheque will save it !!!!!!!!

Hi Mike

At least both of yours also have the same later version of the 2.5 engine as the cut over was ORGA 7144 so everything should be identical. Might still be worth a detailed check on all the coding on the engine ECU's as I have so far identified 4 different variants for the 2.5TD.

Hi John.

Thanks for the thought. As it happens, the main ECU is one piece I've already swapped over. Suddenly got the engine management light appear on the one I'm using. Changed everything I could think of to no avail. Finally the ECU and -- hey presto -- lamp out. So - whether something caused a fault or the ECU threw a wobbly I don't really know. Either way, the one I'm using goes fine and light free while the bitzer starts on the button and runs fine, complete with EM lamp on. All the numbers on the ECU were identical.

Just out of interest, what changed on the engine between the 2 versions?

Biggest difference was the new water pump with most of the rest being to the changed sensors and actuators. Will see if I can put a list together.
