To my eternal shame I have had my 96 2.5 VSX estate (aircraft carrier!) for 9 months but only just discovered the site.
Enjoying reading the site and at the minute have more questions than answers so I'll take a back seat.

Welcome to the club. I thought for a minute you were French, only I have never seen an XM estate in France! I have the 2.1 version, my fourth, fantastic car. Continue to enjoy.

Hi nuthallblade,

Welcome to club-xm. I hope you find the posts helpful in keeping your prized possession in servicable condition. Hopefully it won't be too long before you can contribute your own findings for the benefit of all.

If you put your model and year in your signature then anyone will be able to understand your point or question in relation to your specific car.

Welcome aboard.

Cheers

Many thanks for your welcome chaps.
The car is going in for a service, (and a few mods/tweeks) next week so I shall probably have something to add after that.
Sorry noz I am a muppet with computers, where do I put my signature and therefore details, I have got the enable signature box ticked.

Hi nuthallblade,

No problem. Just click on the 'My Controls' button at the top right hand corner of this screen. On the next screen click on 'Edit My Signature' button at the bottom left of the screen. Just fill in the box on the right with your car model and if possible its RP or ORGA number (a 4 digit number printed in white on the A-pillar on the passenger side). The RP number identifies the car more uniquely and determines which version of components is fitted to your car. This is essential for identifying the correct wiring diagrams etc.

Cheers

Thanks for that noz, I have just done it so this will see if it works.
Also found that via the converter on the site that the RP indicates a build in 05/95 but not registered until 08/96, I assume with the extreme popularity of XMs this about par for the course, whats the record? It makes the XM older than the Xantia it replaced!
