hello everyone I am now the proud owner of a 1997 XM executive 2.5td. A change from Saabs. smile.gif
I bought it with a head gasket failure so it is in the process of being fixed- I had a look at the manual and decided this was a job best left to the experts! I also found some postings re this subject helpful.
The car drives like a dream even with this problem, so I look forward to being impressed when it's returned to me!

I don't think you will find anything that rides like an XM, I am on my fourth 2.1 td estate. I favour the 2.1 because I do all my own maintenance and they are a "little" easier to work on then the 2.5 but I know that yours has better performance, so enjoy. Welcome to the club.

Hi Stuart,

Welcome to the club. I envy your 1997 model, where on earth did you find it?

What was the symtoms of your duff head? (having done 3 myself)

Once you get it back feel free to share your woes with your fellow sufferers and we'll see what we can do to lessen the pain.

Cheers
