Full Version Low Pressure Warning

Club XM Forum > Hydraulics Issues

Hi all,

This weekend I changed the dirty old LHM in my car for Hydraflush. The system primed ok and seemed to be fine. I drove to work today and back with no problems (about 10 miles round trip). In fact I think the steering is noticeably lighter.

This evening I started the car to run an errand and was greeted by the HYDRAULIC PRESSURE and BRAKE PRESSURE LOW warnings on the LH display.

The level of fluid in the reservoir is fine.

The car goes up and down ok and the brakes work OK. I drove the car gingerly on the errend and all seems OK but the warnings keep flashing.

Could the hydraflush have affected the pressure sensor? Where is the sensor?

Help please as I am going on hols this weekend and I don't want to cram my wife and 3 kids into her Toyota AYGO!!!!

I've been running on Hydrarincage for he last 5000 miles or so (I think I'd better change back to LHM this week whilst I'm on holiday). The improvements have been quite astonishing!

Even after all this time the car behaves quite differently every trip. My pressure warning light was slow to go off at first but didn't stay on like yours. I've found that a good session of Citrobics often rectifies any odd behaviour.

Have you cleaned BOTH filters?

Hi Boris (Andy),

The light has now gone off. (trip to Sainsburys)

Could be a bit of air finding it's way out.

I cleaned 2 filters, is that all of them?

The ride is definitely better but imperceptibly so (wow that was a big word).

Will keep you all posted.

John
