Nice enough car, but from what I understand Peter is looking for, it needs to be a
S2 manual Estate in silver - wonder if Citroen registered many...

Ah the sign of an Early 2.1
Its got Plastic inlet manifold and LUCAS mechanical injection... Only the early models with plastic inlets had Lucas and later ones with alloy inlet had bosch injection...
I d have her if I was looking for a DERV, but would possibly convert it to Bosch...

The way diesel £ is going, you may have to convert it to petrol!

Ha!
That wouldn't be a problem either with the bits and pieces here... got a spare V6 PRV even that would go in!!!!

Very nice but its not an estate, also just the right mileage for head gasket failure
Both my '96s have Bosch pumps

. I have just put the hatchback I bought for spares on the road - I felt sorry for it

They will have Bosch Peter,
I think Citroen ONLY fitted it to the first couple of years run, or at least while they had Plastic Inlet, before changing to metal inlet and Bosch...

The strange thing is that there are one or two owners on here with '95s which have EPIC pumps but I think they were actually built after mine! Only the January '96s seem to have Bosch, after that they were all EPIC.

For info re 2.1TD engines
The XUD11BTE/L3 (P8C) engine with the EPIC management system was introduced in January 1995, on manual XM versions only, in order to meet stricter EEC anti-pollution regulations (eg using exhaust gas recirculation and a catalytic converter). It was derived from the existing XUD11ATE/Y (PHZ) engine which continued to be used for automatics. This engine development also involved some minor changes to the block and cylinder head.
The above might explain the apparent overlap of engine types during this period.

Hi Paul
I think you misunderstood me. All of mine have had Bosch pumps, Mk1 and Mk2, but all of the post '96 Mk2s had EPIC pumps, although all the YBL reg Jan '96 2.1s have Bosch pumps, a few of the '95 reg ones had Epic but I think that is because the YBLs were made in mid '95 and had spent several months in a field somewhere. This is borne out by the fact that my sons '96 has an earlier RP number than the '95 I have just fitted the clutch to. Sounds a bit complicated I know, but hope you get the drift of it.
Peter.
