My 2.5 is now MOT'd, running like a dream aprt from 2 things. There's a bit of a coolant leak from the expansion tank, and a slight LHM leak from the doseur. Does anyone know if there are any differences between a S2 and a S1.5, cos I think I've got a S1.5 valve kicking around.
Thanks
Neil

Hi Niel
Never had a problem with one of those, but I am sure someone will be along in a minute that has!

i had a seizure problem with the doseur which required replacement. As far as i know it was replaced with a series 2 part, no further variation than that. Given that my car is a '94 made 2.5td you are in the same boat. sorry i cant be more specific with part numbers.

The usual source of a leak on a brake doseur valve is through the cap at the pedal-shaft end of the unit ( which is available as a spare) and all doseur valves were the same from RP No 5446 (early) until RP 07979. After this they all used the same which was a modified replacement for all (except very early ones) If the leak is from elsewhere, it would seem that the only sure cure is a replacement valve.

Depending where it is coming from, it could just be a tired seal on the cap. If so a new cap will fix it for little cost.
