Hi,

This is my first post to this forum. But I can see several familiar names from Yahoos's XM-L group. I hope this forum is better searchable than that group list smile.gif

And now I can understand why there is a link under every post from Norrie on XM-L.

From now on I have to visit visit one more site regularly.

I drive an S2 Xm 2.1TD VSX automatic car (built in 1996). It's done about 215.000 kms so far and yes it has the ZF 4HP18 auto box rebuilt (not from my money fortunately) wink.gif

Happy Citroëning for all!

Regards,
mrqbxm from Yahoo's XM-L

Hi Norrie,

My Xm is running well. After having it for 18 months I can say it was worth the money. It does not use any oil you don't have to top it up.

The ride is a bit hard. There is now hydraflush in the system and when I have it to change back to LHM I will have the "balls" refilled.

The autobox is doing its job perfectly. I plan to change oil in it with every engine oil change. It's not that much money.

I can't tell how much is my comsumption in MPG but it's 8.6 pro 100km. I can go nearly 1000km with a tank. It's not that bad from a heavy automatic car.

I have the intermittent ABS out of order text, but usually after next starting it disappears. I will use your description to sort it out.

Another small inconveniance is that some water comes in through the roof window. Unfortunately you can't find the hoses from the bottom end I till this time I did not want to lower the roof lining (or what do you call it smile.gif. Interesting but I had the same problem with my former BX 14 RE from '87. It was my first Citroën and I had it for 7 years. After buying a Ford Mondeo estate with all the toys I sold the BX. The Mondeo was not a bad car but without the hydropneumatic suspension it was like a coach. I had it for one year only and bought the Xm.

There is a common failure with S2-s that water comes in at the front left door and fills the map holder on the door. Do you know anything about this?

Your CD is really helpfull. It's a pity that someone started to make money from your work.

Regards,
Ferenc

Hi mrqb,

Glad to hear the XM's doing all right.

I've never tried Hydraflush myself but I hear some good reports about it (some bad too though).

You're ABS problem is most likely to be the wheel sensors, especially if intermittent.

Luckily I've never had a problem with the sunroof on either car. I've taken the roof lining out from a scrap car just to see how it was done. It wasn't such a bad job. Once removed, access to the sunroof and the drainage pipes is easy.

Funny you mention about the water in the map pocket. For 99.9% of the time I'm in the car on my own and I don't notice the passenger side pocket. But recently a couple of passengers have pointed out the water in the pocket. I must investigate too.

It was probably only a matter of time that someone would copy the CD and sell it. There has been one before on ebay but this is the first time on a fixed website. Its a pain but I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it.

Cheers
