I see the new Vauxhall Astra TV ad shows a finger pressing a button with "Sport" marked on it. Apparently it allows you to "change the settings for more involved driving".
Whatever will they think of next?

I know what you mean Derek. I was round at someone's house once, and 5th Gear came on the TV. Everyone in the room oooohd and aaaahd as they reviewed one of those stupid inflatable Porsche SUV things, particularly at the part where they said 'Porsche has even devised a sport button, which firms up the suspension and handling for spirited driving'.
No one seemed too interested when I mentioned that my almost 20 year old XM had a (superior) version of that.....
I remember a similar reaction in the 90s when Merc were hailed as geniuses, as they came out with cars featuring directional headlights, it was the best thing since sliced bread! Mentioning that it had been on the DS....ah.... 40 years ago, seemed to fall on deaf ears...

That ad just came on the TV, literally just as I finished posting my last response!
I see why its superior to the XM's implementation now, its clear. The button has a cool looking red light, mounted on one of those nice dashes with plasticcy airbrushed silver.... welll duh! of course its miles better than anything that dodgy Shitron lot could ever produce...
