Full Version Just Found This Site, Looking Good

Club XM Forum > Introductions
Niek
Hello all,

I just incidentally found this site and it looks very promising. It's just what I was looking as most forums are mainly about Xantias...
I've had my 16v for about 4 years now and done 100k km in it since. Yesterday I bought myself another Xm, 2.5TD VSX with only 190k km original and a brand new engine tongue.gif .
Unfortunatly it's been standing still for some time now (the people selling it seemed convinced it was worth alot more than people thougth it was) luckily they wisened up as I did my bid and I got it for 2500 euros...
Couple of things I'll need doing before really using it and selling the petrol (I do 40000 km per year since recently). New spheres at the rear (all three, I'll leave the anti-sink for later), new accessories (??) belt (apparantly that's not too much fun... actually with the amount of space under the bonnet not much will be I guess), two new tyres, and the exhaust needs welding. That should make it drive nicely againg, then there is the AC to be sorted and the blower to be fixed...
Anyway, I'm 29, and I'm one of those people who would have 20 cars if only I had the room.... (saw another reallt nice CX not so long ago and a fully loaded xm V6 etc....)

Cheers,
Niek

Hi Niek,

Welcome to club-xm. I hope you find it useful in keeping your XM in top condition.

I too have 2 x 2.5TD's. They are very comfortable with lots of power.

The timing belt is easy to change. Some of the access is gained from under the wheel arch. With the correct instructions it should take you half an hour to change.

Don't know much about the A/C but I'm sure someone else will be along to offer you advice.

The blower is relatively easy to fix. Look under the 'Self Help' section for a downloadable picture story to show you how its done.

The world is too small for the number of cars we'd like to keep.

Cheers
