I was wondering what if anything was known about the S2 dot matrix display? the reason I want to know is farly simple.. I have aquired a CCRT700 radio from a Vauxhall.. this won't mean much, but it has no display on it, normally it used the display in the dash.. It is made by Philips however. My S2 had a Clarion radio, whcih is also made by Philips, my feeling is they wodul not have invented a new display just for differnt cars and the two will be related. Why do I want the CCRT700? it has a GSM phone built in!

Out of three Jan '96 reg, supposedly the same model 2.1 estates, only one had the radio display on the dot matrix. So exactly which models are supposed to have this feature?

Hi All
I seem to remember Noz posting that the Mk2 display gets its radio signals on a 2 wire serial link somewhere in the mass of terminal pins on the display rear connector.

All mine had the original radio's but only the one displayed the info. Mind you there were quite a few differences between the cars, one even had a different auxilluary belt drive system!
