Hi there,

I've already posted once as a guest (25 Feb 2005, hydraulics) and thought it was about time I joined. I'm now retired and living in the wilds of Lincolnshire. My background was aircraft (RN and Army - not RAF, followed by 20 years teaching aeronautical science), so I'm reasonably familiar with hydraulic theory.
Hobbies are sailing and model engineering.
Current car is a '99 V6 24v XM Exclusive which I've had for two years and everything works - even the LH display! This is my third XM (1990 2.0i which insisted on reverting to "sports" mode, followed by 1990 SEi which introduced me to those delicious leather seats) both were autos. They both suffered from intermittent ignition faults (the SEi was brought home on a transporter twice) caused by overheating of the ignition module at the back of the cylinder head.
Previous Citroens were an ID (poor man's DS} which I ran in Aden 1965-67, GS, GSX, GSA and a BX 16TRS.

Best Wishes to all, DerekW
