mellow.gif hi all. may not be the right place for this but nevermind.
i have recently taken up a position as aftersales manager (parts and service) for a motor group covering citroen, mazda, fiat and nissan. if i get enough response i will approach my citroen manager for discount on service/repair and parts supply. im thinking maybe pads, discs, filters rather than oddball bits as he will see it as time consuming etc etc etc. we are based in bolton near manchester but i am sure we could arrange p+p over uk etc. all iask is check your part is still available first so the overworked(!) staff cant complain of "waste of time" etc. i have always used genuine citroen stamped parts on my cars and it has helped when selling.
please reply to this post if you feel it helpful and i will speak to our group manager over discounts etc.

thanks joe

Hi Joe,

I'm surprised there haven't been more replies to your post. Personally, I would be quite interested in something like this, any source of cheap(er) parts is a welcome development!

I believe anything like this would obviously be welcomed. I understand the comment about
obscure items that would be time consuming to source but it would be sad to rule out more
unusual parts mind; in my experience these are exactly the items I HAVE to buy through a
main dealer rather than any alternative source/factors etc as they are the infamous 'main
dealer part only'. Several Citroen dealerships do offer discounts to members of the Citroen
Car Club though I'm not a member so am not certain exactly what level of offer is available.

Yes C i get between 5 and 20% depending what it is i am buying, and they now call me the xm man, rather than Dean biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif , It does sound like a good idea this discount scheme but i think the reason there has been so few replies is that there are probably very few purists who would insist on genuine parts for a vehicle of the age most XMs are, and although i see Joe's point about obscure parts that take time to find i.e big effort, little profit parts, i have to say i agree with Andrew, i only pay the dealer premium when the part in question is only available there but any kind of deal would be much appreciated I'm sure.
Joe, have you tried to contact anyone at the BX club.....it may help make the idea much more viable for you if there are that many more people in the know.

I would welcome such an arrangement but I very rarely go to Citroen as I manage to source most of my parts secondhand or from GSF. The majority of us would need a postal service, is that feasable?

Hi , If this did come to fruition would it only be for UK or could it cover mainland Europe ?.

hi all.
really welcome comments. i reckon we could get a minimum 15% discount for club members. i taske on board obscure parts comments. i also reckon this would be viable if enough interest shown. i will give it until the end of the month and then approach "the boss". europe wouldnt bee a problem either. we need to push parts sales and would welcome orders from all citroen model owners. keep your comments coming.

thanks again.

Joe, this is a great idea. And p&p is good too since I dont live near Bolton.
Ive been looking for some time now for parts for my 2.0 16v engine, namely rad hoses. The car is S2, RPnum 6668, built 1995, with the aluminium rad: its got three hoses attached to the rad (i) water inlet - big fat hose from top of rad to top of the engine (ii) water outlet - big fat hose from the back of the engine to lower inlet of rad (iii) wee hose from near water outlet which snakes across to top of engine. And I need a thermostat too. Any chance?
If you need more info let me know...
