Hi Minijet
Hope you find your first diesel XM good value.
It is definitely an Exclusive Mk2 from the earliest batch made in 1994 but it is a 1995 model year car. The "V6-24V" alloys were fitted as standard on the Exclusives in this batch but they changed to "Monte-Carlo" alloys for later Mk2 Exclusive batches. The Emerald Green was also a common colour for Mk2 SX and Exclusive cars with Forest Green for Mk2 VSX's. The cloth trim was an exclusive option where the customer did not want leather. Mk1 and Mk2 grills are interchangable so I guess the one on your car was replaced with a Mk1 one that needed spraying and the badges did not get put back or the fixing holes were filled before painting.
Regards

How did I miss that one!

. I think its a series 2 with a series 1 front grill. The boot script is S2 as is the dashboard and steering wheel, I would recokon it was registered in August 04 or later.
Dont do what I did will you. I bought one for scrap a few weeks ago but it was so nice to drive and look at, I have decided it would be a crime to break it, so I am just waiting for the nice weather to come when I shall put a new clutch in it.

XMexc,
Thanks for the info. You're probably right about the rad grill, and the fixing holes are there, but I think I'll look out for an S2 grill, then it will be identical in appearance to my other one.
Peter,
I assume you meant August 94, you were spot on, 1st August to be exact. The other one with higher spec was registered on 8th October 94. But the extras may have been optional.
Thanks again,
Paul.
