I have just changed the accumulator sphere on my xm as the pressure regulator was clicking constantly, i used a amtec sphere from gsf, and one of the new accumulator sphere removal tools from ebay, which was the business. Result no more clicking and hissing all the time. I must point out that if you have air conditioning the condensor and it's hoses, make things extremely tight!

Hi Demag

Just winding the clock back a little -- what was the state of play, in the end, with your front crossmember ?

Mike.

Hi Mike,

The rotten bit? Yes still rotten although the car is off the road at the moment. My son is off work with a disc problem and the missus broke her foot so not much time to do anything. It needs the f/o/s brake sorting. The rear centre sphere replacing and a few other odds and sods (including the welding). It's still taxed but mot is up and I don't want to risk driving it till its done. Knowing my luck someone will run into me with no insurance and I'll get done for no mot.
My sister who lives over your way uses a bloke over Wylde Green who is very reasonable and does a good job. He's a manager in a garage but does foreigners as well. So hopefully popping it over to him this week for a looksee.
I'm getting too old now to be crawling round underneath them for extended periods. I don't mind the odd job as I changed the front centre sphere the other week but it takes me ten minutes to get off my back now! tongue.gif
I've bought a Fiat Cinquecento as a runabout and the missus loves it laugh.gif 30mph feels fast in it and I must admit its a good laugh.
My son's 306 is pretty well dead now. I had a diagnostic bloke look at it and he checked the fault codes. (I didn't even know it had a cpu!) he thinks it's injection related. So got to get that over to Bilston for a check up.
I think I might look into one of those electric pushbikes that someone on here bought. The motor would probably burn out on me biggrin.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
