Full Version Re:i Miss My Xm!

Club XM Forum > Anything goes chat

Hi all
I went to Hitchin Antiques market today and parked my car.As I walked away a lady walked past and mumbled "I miss my XM".On chatting to her she(and her husband)had progressed from DS's to CX's and then onto 3 XM's....before having a C5!!!She said it was the most troublesome one of the lot and had just had a new catalytic converter(I am sure she said £2K+-surely not?).

I think the XM is going to be a hard, or impossible, act to follow. I have had three CX's and six XMs, in some ways the CX is better but for sheer cosseting I dont think that the XM can be beaten. I have investigated several other cars, but none match the XM overall. Keep stockpiling those spares!

Peter-I am sure I take the comfort of my XM for granted now.My dad has a Volvo V40 estate which I drive occassionally, you have to be a contortionist to get in,my head touches the headlining and the seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on(bearing in mind the 2cv has hammock seats!!!).The 2cv floats along though-like a well sprung boat!!Its off to the repairers after my shunt the other month...the bill came to £900 plus paint and parts-I was amazed!
