Morning guys.

Some of you may already be aware of this, but Adrian Chapman (you may remember him from such shows as 'XM-L') is selling his '96 2.0TCT VSX in black with tan leather.
I've listed it here on his behalf, but since its Adrian's car, it's best if I let him do the talking:

Something interesting's come up, and it's about time I had a change after
nearly seven years with the XM...

So... Anybody fancy mine?

'96/N TCT Auto VSX. Black with tan leather. 142k miles. Aircon/climate.
Passenger airbag. MOT until May, tax until September.

I've had it since October 2000, when it had 60k miles - and it's been
serviced regularly and properly ever since, by a damn good Cit specialist -
including ATF with *every* 9k engine oil change. Two owners before me. If I
can round all the paperwork up, it's got a full service history (for
whatever that's worth).

Two good, two late-middle-aged Michelins on wobbly alloys. Recent cambelt
and one front wheel bearing.

It's not perfect - you want a full warts'n'all list? OK...

Bodily, it's got a few small marks and very minor scrapes here and there -
most notably an A5-size ripply bit on the driver's door where some pillock
reversed into it. It's missing one headlight washer cover and the scuttle
trim ends are currently removed, because of access to the wipers (see
below). I don't do carwashing, so it's certainly not a
waxed-to-within-an-inch-of-it's-life garage queen. One rear door had a bit
of filling before I got it - invisible outside, but there's a small scrape
visible on the frame in the door shut. It's never had any bodywork whilst
I've had it.

Interior's a little grubby, and the fuse box cover under-dash panel's
removed, together with the console side - I took it off when the fan heat
motor started playing up, never got round to re-assembling it, and the
pipework's all a bit disturbed. Everything's with the car, though. The
front interior lock buttons are awol, and the surround to the driver's door
interior handle is in the door pocket.

Electrically, both front windows have been done - the driver's with a good
used, the passenger with stainless wire. Both rear windows work fine. The
sunroof works fine, but the switch has ignored me a couple of times lately.
The fuel computer works fine the majority of the time, but doesn't like hot
days. The climate control's a bit tempramental, but can usually be
persuaded to do what you want if you ask nicely. The wipers aren't
currently self-parking or working on intermittent - I've tried a different
motor, with no joy. My suspicion is that it's only a relay. The passenger
mirror isn't currently adjusting - I think I must have disturbed a
connector when I had the door trim off to do the window, because it worked
fine, including reverse-dip, before that.

Mechanically, I fear saying this, but it's utterly reliable. It's let me
down perhaps a couple of times in the time I've had it - autobox interlock
(the underbonnet fusebox has been rewired), and a coolant hose earlier this
year. The steering UJ has occasinally shown a *little* notchiness, but
nothing massively worrying, and there's a slight blow from the exhaust -
the manifold gasket was done not long after I bought the car. The hippo is
healthy, the spheres are about a year old, the LHM's been changed
regularly. There's a slight LHM leak from the regulator block, probably a
pipe seal, but it's never needed topping up between changes. It rarely
needs the oil topping up between changes, either. It's had a few ABS
sensors, a water pump, rad, drop links, a ball joint and a few other things
whilst I've had it - but mainly just servicing. The autobox was replaced
under warranty at 9,000 miles from new.

It's got a towbar with single electrics - rarely used, but when it has
been, it's been used to tow about a ton and a bit of car trailer - and
there'll be a large pile of parts with it. I mean a _van-full_ mainly of
body panels, but some electrics and a load of godknowswhat, mainly from a
'95 TCT Exclusive.

If you're interested, give me a shout on 07796 690210. I'm near Jn 17 of
the M25. If it's going, then it's going soon. I know how much I need from
it to "make the change", so make me an offer. It'll repay a weekend or two
of the kind of enthusiasm that new ownership carries...

If anyone wants to contact him, use the number listed above, or PM me and I'll provide his email address. I didn't want to list it publically in case it gets harvested by the slimming pills and viagra squad!

Cheers
