Different model same problem/failure/bill to fix.

Also sad to see the 2.0i Turbo Activa and Xm models being culled for
an engine transplant for the Revs/Max Power fraternity with cared for cars
with full new MOT's being ebayed, driven home and scrapped. MADNESS! ohmy.gif sad.gif

Yep makes my blood boil TBH, theres manys a 106 and Paxo has been the recipiant of an XM / Xant engine. I can't believe they destroy such unique cars, to soup up a dime a dozen shopping cart, there should be a law against it.

Sadly its the same across all marques. I'm still involved with a few Vauxhall sites, and have seen owners of things like the rare Cavalier Turbo 4x4s cracking up when people break working examples to put the engines and running gear in a biscuit tin Nova or Corsa. Unfortunately theres no law against the destruction of something unique in the name of chaviness...

Well.. Vauxhalls deserve to be broken up... before the rust does it for them! biggrin.gif laugh.gif

Simple answer. Buy the rest of the car of them now and when they find it hard to sell theirs with all the changes then buy it for peanuts and transfer the engine back in.

Hi all

The stupid thing is, say you put a 2ltr turbo lump in a pug 205, the insurance will be far higher than if you just ran the car the engine came out of in the first place.
Not only that but you will have weeks months of teething problems with an engine swap of that nature, Then there's the problems with spares! if the exhaust goes it will have to be custom made etc etc.

It's REALLY sickening when you get little boys in their AXs with god-knows-what stuck all over it in an attempt to make it look better, and then they ask you to fit an engine they bought from something else (that probably won't fit). We always refuse, and Phil usually has a good laugh.

I had an AX boy come in the other week - he had put some of those "headlight eyebrows" on his car, and a massive spoiler on the boot. Apparently he's paying 2k insurance a year to drive around in that tin can (in a 1.0 AX) - because he got a driving ban while he was still on his provisional. I took great delight in saying "Oh, thats a shame. I pay £560 a year, and my car is a 1.4 BX"

Not a Xantia, but a very good reason why children should not be allowed to play with cars:

Hi all

Dear god what has someone done to that poor unsuspecting BX ohmy.gif (pictured above)
Now i know I'm hardly one to talk, as you can see by my avatar, but i at least draw the line at revolting body kits, especially the home made variety. With the amount of drag created by whale tails and ridiculous front spoilers you may as well hang a parachute out the back of the car!
