This is about a DS but should apply to the XM as well. Haven't had time to look but I guess this site is full of good info. Note that, as others comment at bottom of page, these are sufficient in case the main valve is in good order. If it is found to have marks (then it will still leak or stick), they recommend polishing it or getting a valve from another height corrector -and check h.c. internals for similar problems-.

My friend Stevie who used to work in the Edinburgh Citroen main dealer described their method which was simply to pop the valve apart and clean any high spots etc. off with a suitable grade (fine to very fine) of wet and dry paper before putting it all back together. This was in the days of DS and the occasional CX, though they were probably new enough at the time not to need it.

Yours truly wrote an artcle in the CCC magazine only a year or so ago describing the method of refurbishing - but in basic English - and locating the necessary spare parts. Asked nicely, I might consider digging it out and scanning it for the linguistically deficient!

Oi listen you I only just got to manage enough of yorkshire english to get by!

And I found those rear estate lights.

Not in best condition maybe but I will give them a look over later (I seem to be a little busy right now), if they have no cracks etc then thats a pair of fronts and rears I have to get to you.
