Hi guys,
I'm getting a different reference for the saloon cylinder between S1 (95 633 656) and S2 (52 71 48), though without any reference to RP like usually (e.g. "to RP5399"), but have the cylinders really changed or it's just a code change?
thanks
George

I'm sure I read somewhere there is a difference in the diameter George.

Hi George
There are a number of different types of cylinder. The actual piston size varies between a car and an estate. The hydraulic inlet pipe size varies between hydractive and the early small diameter first used. That gives the possibility of at least 3 or 4 types. All these changes took place in 1991/1992 and predate the Mk1/Mk2 in 1994. I suspect that this latter change was just a number change rather that a redesign of the part but I am not sure that I would risk fitting a single one off ebay in the hope that it was right, now a matched pair of new ones would be a much better bet.

Hi all,
May be worth checking the PLEIADES site, it's full of good info ( and overhauled components) or perhaps give them a call. Haven't changed one since 98 on my old S1
