I'm not sure what u mean but, I think I cannot agree with you, if we speak of appearence. Those photos are from ebay cars and I've seen them (12 and 24vs) many-many times the last years. As u open the bonnet, they *do* look different, as per the photos. My 12v looks like the photo 12v. Doesn't your 24v look like the 24v in photo?
When I first saw a 24v engine photo I was surprised how little care they took of the "looks" of the top of the engine, having previously seen the good aestehtical result of the 12v cap (even my BMW-obsessed friend appreciated it). Their caps are different. Looks like they designed the 24v in 5 minutes
Now, technically, I have no info except that indeed the 24v is a single-cam engine, and, also, I have the impression one bank of valves (inlet?) uses 1 rocker per valve while the other bank (exhaust?) uses 1 rocker for each 2 valves. On top of this, the inlet manifolds are totally different as u prob. know, technically and aesthetically as well.
