Hi Andrew,
How easy a repair is this ?
Could you please explain how you would do it, I presume you would bring a new strut top with you ?
All the best,
Mark.

As repairs go it's relatively easy - as long as the bolts come undone. Yes - new strut needed.
You might get some funny looks driving along with that bonnet!
It must be worth saving from the breakers, even though its in a rare but unpopular colour.

I have a virtually-new, 2000-mile-only strut top in the lockup if anyone's interested...

Someone must have a spare bonnet on offer. I know my indy has (don't know about colours though).

Remember to budget for possibly another strut, a wheel arch liner, flexi brake lines to the caliper, and possibly an abs sensor / loom if the wires have been damaged as the strut went skywards.
If it was a different colour, with a tow bar and an estate then I would have been interested.....possibly
