Hi Loopy,
Sorry to disappoint but the membership number does not equate to the number of current members. Every time someone applies to become a member the server allocates the next available one. IF that member leaves or more recently if its a spammer and their membership is deleted then the membership number is not re-used. The best guide to the total number of current members is the total at the bottom left of the main forum screen.
