If the car lives up to the description and the mileage I'd say you were on to a winner. Its quite unusual to see 87K miles on a 96 plate. Looks excellent visual condition too. You'll find someone on this forum selling an original XM radi cassette if the steering wheel controls are a must. Alternatively there are conversion kits available on ebay to enable third party CD players to operate with the oem controls.

Jump in and join club-xm. Any problems that arise can be fixed here!

If you do get that car and decide to get an original radio (Mk2 Phillips) make sure that you also get the radio code as without it they are a sod to decode and get to work.

Have some spare Phillips radios about somewhere. Been meaning to set one up in the shed to test some cd's with, just not got round to it. Would have to find the codes and check one if no one else can supply you.

I believe they will connect with a cable.

there is a cd changer on e-bay its with a Xsara radio. the radio wont fit the XM but the CD changer is the same. you can also buy sony CD changers that will work with most head units if thats any help to you

Demag the most important bit with XM CD's is the lead to the radio. If this is not available with the CD you buy the identifying the correct one is a pain and the cost can be in the region of £40. I have had a look at the Xsara owners manual (also Xantia and Berlingo) and all have the same 2 car to radio plugs and wiring as the Mk2 XM. It is logical that the 3rd plug for the CD will also be the same but the manuals do not actually cover this point. Sorry not keen on selling an untested CD.

Craig have all 3 types of XM radio spare all currently untested since removal. Will check a Mk2 Phillips one out and let you know.
