Don't know if this helps or not, or if it is what Noz has compiled already but the Lexus forum that I now frequent found this useful. The XM was the only citroen I could find (I was looking for a manual for my wife's xantia activa).

Hi genius,

Yes, that is my manual. Although probably inevitable in this day and age it is by no means less annoying to find months (and I mean months) of hard labour stolen and offered for sale on the web. I only wish I'd known about the security features of Acrobat when I first made the CD's.

Ho hum. You live and learn.

Cheers

This is worrying, Noz. Presumably whoever is benefitting from your labours has previously bought the CD from you?

Noz, are your manuals still available to purchase...would it be suitable for my '95 2.0i Prestige?
Cheers, Carl

Hi Derek,

Yes, presumably, but I've never managed to work out who. Judging by the number of pages it must have been an early copy because its up to 1800 pages now.

Carl,
Yes the manuals are still available. However, your '95 2.0i Prestige sounds like a Series 1.5. The S2 manual is probably close to being complete whereas the S1 manual is only 5 volumes out of 9 and being 1200 pages so far. I've never managed to find more paper copies to finish the task. Because your model is on the brink between S1 and S2 you'd probably need both manuals.

PM or e-mail me off list if you're interested.

Cheers

Hi Noz

As far as I can see the series 2 manual is not a stand alone publication. When I have been using it there have been occasions where the reference is to the series 1 manual. This applies particularly to the common body work fittings. Any chance of a list of the sections you have obtained and also those you know exist. I will then see if I have any bits that are missing and know what to try and source.

An email about how to use the Acrobat security feature would be helpful for when I start scanning the set of a dozen or so XM owners manuals from the different year models.

Should have the pair of car rear cylinders removed shortly now I have cracked how to lock them in the subframe to unscrew the spheres without a pressurised system. Sorry to have taken a long time. Let me know if you no longer need them.

Regards

XMexc

Hi XMexc,

You may be right. There is a portoion of the S2 manual which has identical pages to the S1 manual. However, the pages were individually scanned from folders which were clearly designated either S1 or S2. Clearly there would be no point for Citroen in re-typesetting a page for the S2 manual if it was identical to the same page in the S1 manual. Having said that, some of the pages which are in every other sense identical have serial numbers at the bottom right margin which are different. These could just be a sequential number per issue or something like that. I've never seen a full set of volumes for either manual so I don't have a benchmark to know how close (or far away) they are. I know of no master index to use for that purpose.

I will send you the index for both manuals when I get home tonight. Every page has an entry in the index so the index is a good benchmark as to what is included and what is missing.

I'll drop you a line about setting a password on Acrobat.

Yes please, I'm still interested in the struts. The silver 2.5 in the garage is a non-runner til I get them fixed.

Cheers
