Hi All
I was out in the 24V last night. It's been a while since I've prised it off the Missus for a good long run. The thing was I'd just forgotten what an amazing motorway car it is. It's not that I don't drive alot of motorways -25-30K/pa and my other car is a Honda 2.2 iCTDI estate, which is no mean motorway car itself - but the XM is brillant. So fast and yet so relaxing. Coming up the long two lane slip road for J8 of the M25 there were two cars abreast haead, a Astra van came up behind me, sat on my bumper, flashed me and the car in front of me pulled over. Oh dear. It's the XM ability to kickdown at 70. Very nice. So why is it after what 15years (introduction of XM vs latest Honda Accord) that the XM is still such a special car? Maybe it's only now with the C6 that citroen have had the bottle to do something similar. But for the money is there a better motorway car than an XM? and a better model than the late 24V? Tony |
