Manuals claim the engine type identification can be found near the oil filter. Either I am too stupid to find it or it is rusted away on my engine. Any change to determine the engine type by some other trick?

Michael,
What kind of engine do you have? Petrol/Diesel 2.0l/2.1l? Can you possibly put your model and RP number in your signature so that we can better answer your questions? Just click on 'My Controls' at the top right of this screen, 'edit my signature' at the bottom left of the next and fill in the details in the white box in the middle of the screen. I've attached the location of the engine ID plate for the 2.0l Petrol as an example. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey
