Hi All!!

The heating in my 1993 V6 SEi, 12 valce is stuck on WINDSCREEN setting... My poor feets are getting cold each morning because when pressing the FOOT direction button the flap in the heater ducting is not moving..

The car has the electronic control panels.. Will this be a panel fault or (like the heat control motor) be the same thing, the motor that controls the flap..

How much of a job is it to change/check it..?? were is it ??

Many thanks

citroenxm

As far as I know, only the temperature control is electronic and the motors fail, I have had to replce two. On mine (VSX) the flaps are operated by cable, but as I have never had a problem with them, I cant give you much more help.

Hi citroenxm,

Have a look at the self help file for the heater box here:

http://club-xm.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=279

On page 2 photo 3 you'll see the flap control in the middle of the photo. It is annotated as 'Rotating shaft c/w control flaps'. On my VSX its cable operated but all flaps are made in such a way that they can be cable or servo operated depending on the trim level of the particular model. You can see the brown cable fixed to the flap control gear in the photo. As you look at the photo that is how the heater is mounted in the car. The flap motor/cable in question should be at the drivers side above the heater matrix which can be seen in photo 2. I suspect all the servo motors are interchangeable.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi citroenxm,

Yes the motor should be accessible by removing the side trim.

Best of luck.

Cheers
