Hi,
I posted this before, but it vanished. My car's just failed the MOT due to rear fog lights and number plate lights not working. Bulbs are ok, but there's no voltage to the sockets. The rear fog light symbol lights up on the dashboard. Reversing light's not working either, but as they didn't test for these I'll put it back a place on my `to do' list, unless I could find a common fault thar could knock all three sets of lights out. All three lights are on the tailgate; should I be looking for a break in the loom where it flexes by the tailgate hinge? Indicators and normal rear lights are also on the tailgate, but these work ok. Regards, Jim. |

Hi Jim,
Answers to your previous query here http://club-xm.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=606 When you say there is no voltage, where are you putting the other probe from your multimeter? If the negative probe is put onto something which is before the faulty earth then the meter will read zero volts. But that can be because there's 12v on each probe. The meter can only read voltage differences not absolute voltages. Hope this helps cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey
