As the forum membership grows it is inevitable that the number of members simultaneously on line will grow also.

However, the latest stats on the front screen say:

"Most users ever online was 12 on Sun Mar 28, 2004 3:47 am"

Was there nothing else to do at quarter to four last Sunday morning?

Citroen enthusiasts eh? Can't sleep obviously, too many things on their minds!

We had the the same event on 2 occasions on CitroenZ forum - incredible 14 or 16 users logged on simultanously :

I tried to trace the IP addresses (I'm moderator) - but it did'nt show anything sensible, other than a few members have an IP within the same IP range.

I think it's the usual IP address spoofing that happens now & then to all websites. This occurs when DNS servers track down the finite IP for URL's - when address table is lost for some reason.

Donno if this also happens if hackers try to "ping" down a website, or if virus attacks does this.

seems a far fetched explanation.

I'd prefer to believe there were 12 enthusiasts of the marque who, simulataneously, decided to converge at 3.45 am to discuss their wonderful cars but only ended up reading about everyone else's problems. I suppose it makes a change from that old adage about counting sheep to get to sleep.
