Hi Nightmare
I have seen a number of requests for XM sills in recent years. No one has reported sourcing them. All XM's, both cars and estates use the same sill components. Citroen used to supply them. But this was only the outer face plate intended for accident repair damage. In practice the XM sill is made up of a number of very thin pressed steel sections. It forms a closed structure with rusting normally starting internally. Typically the bottom section of all three sill plates need replacing. Usually only at specific points. The floor pan to inner sill joint can also rust and part particularly near bent jacking points. Floor pan rust has also been found on some XM's. In most cases patch welding is used or the car scrapped. Last quarter we were down below 500 XM's on UK roads. Thanks John,
I guess that means I'll have to get cutting/fabricating & welding then. If my shoulder and hip allow me to. Or take it to a body shop, but being an ex-mechanic I find it hard to trust others to do it right. -------------------- XM 2.5TD Exclusive "N" Reg Emerald green RP 6679 (Resting)
