Hi Norman. I'm looking for a indy at the mo. I have a Citroen main dealer in Fuengirola but I'm trying to avoid.
I took it to a local Spanish garage and asked if they knew anything about the suspension. The guy laughed and told me No no no take it to the main dealer.

I'll find somebody dry.gif

I'm lucky with our local Citroen Dealer/workshop (Ausol, in Velez-Malaga), who do know hydropneumatics well, and have more than one experienced mechanic on hand. They don't see many XM's - obviously - but plenty of Xantias, and the odd CX.

Parts guy is always helpful, and will scour other Spanish dealers shelf-stock if necessary. Available bits usually appear next day.

I don't know of any indy guys who have worthwhile experience of fluid suspension. There have been a few minor Citroen garages, but most never got further than bodging the odd BX before it fell apart. C15 a different matter - thousands of them about - but a different animal. Personally, I wouldn't want to save a few bob by taking something like an XM to anyone who really didn't know their stuff.

Most work I do myself, but I have used Ausol to replace a few spheres when I couldn't find time to do it (which was a few years ago now). Their work is to a high standard, and guaranteed.

I have a friend who operates an independent 4x4 (and other) workshop in Nerja. He works on new Jaguar, L-R, BMW, Merc and many classic vehicles. He did an engine-out on our XM four years ago, in order to replace HG, and did rads, hoses, stats and belts, and all the other perishable bits at the same time. He also works on air-con. Can put you in touch if helpful.

We've had the car since new (Dec.98 first registered), and it's been here in Spain since 2004.

Spot on Chris White Exe with the return pipe.
Easy job 30 mins start to finish.
Total cost 27euros one side.

Local garage quoted 100+ euros and i would have to leave the car for them all day.

Thanks again.
