can anyone tell me how to check if the heated windscreen washer jets actually work? other than wait for it to be really cold and watch the wipers smear the dirt with no water!

i have checked for 12V across the incoming wiring connectors, which there is, but how to test whether the jet body actually gives out any heat?

also, what controls them and are they actually any use in these kinds of cold temperature?

Hi
I sorted mine out last weelend. Cleaned all the connectors leading to them and chexked 12v was getting through. They switch on when you put the heated rear screen on (engine running), if you hold your finger on the metal casing of the jet you can feel it get warm.
Hope this helps

Jets are heated automatically when the rear window heater switch is pushed in, as are the heated exterior rear-view mirrors. The jet heaters seem to be more reliable than the mirror elements, but don't expect scalding water at any time. Brian
