Hi, there are mixed views on the operation of the LEXIA 3 across the range on both XM forums. I personally have had no issues over the past 5 years on my XM. Initially i had a connectivity problem soon resolved with filing the connector shell to provide a better insertion into the diagnostic socket. It's use has been primarily as a maintenance tool 2 or 3 times a year and only in ernest on 3 occaisions in that time, in all cases was accurate.
I believe the main issues are the interface lead connectors (as in my case) and correct loading of the software. I use a dedicated (old) laptop with all programmes (including security and internet) cleared, only the LEXIA and my USB oscilloscope software running on it. robertm |

Hi t0pnotch,
I too have used the Lexia on my Xm for several years and like Robert solved the early connection problems by filing the 30-pin red plug so that it went further into the socket on the car and thus connected electrically. The C5 will not use this 30-pin plug, it will use the standard 16-pin OBD plug so that aspect will not be an issue. I have tried my Lexia on several types of Citroens all with success (except I cannot clear the codes on a Berlingo). However I have never tried a C5. I have a ood friend with a series 2 C5. If I get a chance over the weekend I'll ask him if I can plug in the Lexia and I'll let you know ho I get on. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

My Chinese Lexia has been used successfully on my XM2.1TD and C4 2.0HDI. The C4 OBD connection has been temperamental but gets there with patience.
Recently a group member purchase of Lexias has been on the go on FrenchCarForum -you may find some feedback there on C5 diagnostic experiences from purchasers. Ken -------------------- 97R XM 2.1 TD VSX Saloon, RP 7249, Emerald Green

I can't get mine to work, in spite of reloading the programme twice myself and once by another member I still can't get it to work. Its OK as far as connecting it to the car and giving you the VIN and entering the other number on the door frame it then says it needs validating and wont go any further, any thoughts?

Hi Peter, during initialisation of the loading of the software you need to create a text file named "version". Was this done ? If not it will still load but not run diagnostics.

Hi Robert
I seem to vaguely remember something about that but don't remember any instruction to do it. We are off to Scotland tomorrow so will check it out when we get back. Thanks Peter -------------------- Used to have:

I had no problems with my C5, that said it was a 53 plate with all the toys bar Sat Nav and H3+. Very strange to be able to make all the gauges max out whilst standing still.
