The Heating/aircon/ fan etc. unit on the dash has stopped working.
I have looked at the fuses, they seem OK. Also looked though the Forum and I am thinking it could be down to the wiring in the unit. How do I get this unit out of the dash also will I have to disconnect the battery first ?
As the heating is stuck on 30C the car gets abit hot after about 10 miles. I am getting funny looks at my Red Face when it's raining as I have to open the windows and sunroof to cool down. I am not sure if my Red Face is down to me being Hot or just too Embarrassed.
Thanks Guys for any help.

Regards Mike

Hi Mike, are the indicator led's and temp display out on the panel ? Does the fan run at all ? Or is it that there is just no control of climate ? The panel itself is only retained by spring clips and can be prised out. They are tight clips but use a broad blade lever on each side.

Hi Robertm
Sorry for my late reply I have been away.

Thanks for your reply and info. The panel has no lights or any displays showing and none of the control buttons work. I do not think the fan is running.

Are the spring clips holding the panel on the sides or the top and bottom of the panel and once out can you reuse the spring clips to put the panel back.

Regards Mike

Hi Mike, the clips are part of the display panel and on each side.A totally dead panel is indicative of the main 40Amp holder in the engine bay fuse box F2.You will need to check for overheated wiring and contacts here, not just the fuse. I dont think anyone has actually had a failed control panel or climate control ecu (mounted behind the control panel but integral with).

Thanks for your help and info. guys.
I have just had a quick look at the 40amp fuse and you were spot on robertm. It looked OK from the top, but when I pulled it out it was burnt and just fell apart. I have just fitted a new fuse and it works OK.
As it's raining at the moment I will have to check the wiring and under the fuse box later.
moulin82150 thanks for you link will have a read.

Regards mike
