Hi Techmanagain,
I suppose the answer lies in the amount of the 'system' that was removed. Are the locks still in the doors, ditto the wiring loom to the doors? Do you still have the central locking relay box? Its located under the glove box but above the fan as far as I can recall. Are all the plugs still intact? Please find attached a schematic diagram of the wiring complete with parts index. From there you should be able to determine whats missing. Since the Central Locking is completely separate from the alarm system you can easily have one without the other. Any questions, just ask. cheers, noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

Hi techmanagain,i don't fully understand what has been removed, but it is highly unlikely any of the door, boot or bonnet locks have been. The control unit in the passenger footwell is probably all that has been removed and any S2 box of the same era will work (not infra red). The siren can be left disconnected as this will not effect alarm operation. The probable reasons for removal in the first place are a faulty door lock micro switch causing instant unlocking after locking or spurious alarm triggering, usaually as result of a tired battery, even if the car starts ok, pulling the operating threshold down.

Cor!!! How quick is quick?
What a godsend the XM Club is. Thanks and thanks again. I shall browse through it tonigjht. One thought comes to mind - there will be a remote key involved which will need to be married up to the interior unit. My rapidly failing memory tells me that this can be done by placing the/any key up by the overhead receiver while turning on the ignition. Am I correct? A key is available and may be good. Will it convert to the in-car receiver code or vice-versa? The door locks are still in hopefully, so things may be easier than I thought., and as the receiver(?) is under the glove box it may not have gone. What does the other item (58) look like? And 55? I think that may be all the questions on detail, Thanks again!. p.s. Is the layout drwing for a LHD or a RHD model, or are they the same? Hi Brian
Not good news about the remote system. Mk2 XM Plip receivers do not recode at all. They are dedicated RF sets and cannot be mixed or recoded to work together. So it needs to be fully working items from the original set. John This post has been edited by xmexclusive on August 17, 2011 09:13 am -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
