Hi
I've just sorted ABS problem on my 2.5 in preparation for getting car back on road and MOT. Now on LH display I've got a RH door open warning message. Removed the door sensor near B post, checked it was ok, replaced it with another one anyway but still have the message! The electrovalve relays seem to be clicking a bit more than usual when parked, so I guess that might be related. Would anyone know what to try next? Appreciate the ABS advice on these pages, have just had to replace a rear one with a s/h front one. I reversed car onto ramps, took off the spare wheel tray and the three rubber exhaust mounts to lower exhaust a bit and found access to the cable was ok. Front sensor cable is a few inches longer but tie wraps out of the way - great fun drilling the rear one out, zero chance of getting it out intact! Any advice re door open messagevmuch appreciated. Hi Marc, the switches in the door pillars are only to provide door open signal for suspension anti-jolt.Door waning is integral with lock mechanism as part of the central locking.

The sensor is just a simple switch. The switch may be OK, but does the door operate it properly? Is the door alignment correct: does it actually depress the switch? Do a test by connecting the 2 wires without the switch and see what happens.

Hi Marc,i was in error.the pillar switches do have other functions in that they provide the ground to the electric seat interlock relay and the alternate ground for interior lighting control unit.

Thanks, I operated the central locking a few times and now the warning message has disappeared. Thats what I call an easy solution!
