Noz

Hopefully some ABS files.

Second grovelling edit note: Got it wrong.
This is the Bendix ABS as fitted to the PUG 205 and file dates from Oct 1990 so comparable in age with the XM one.

The PUG 605 started out with Bendix (1990) but changed to Bosch by 1992.

Last one was Bendix I hope.
This one should be early Teves.
The note on the bottom of page 15 is very interesting.
Warns you to avoid being too fast with the ignition key as you can beat the start up routine and if you do the warning light stays on.
Note also that none of these 3 files are for XM's.

Noz

The final one. This is the Bosch 2SE.
Peugot's choice for the 605 in 1991 as an alternative for the Bendix they started with.
Citroen chose to revamp the XM Bendix about the same time. There are incompatibilities between the two XM Bendix systems. The incompatibilities include sensors and two ECU versions.

Hi All

One last on subject post to round this all off.
An intermittant fault with the contacts on a poor ignition switch can cause power blips (supply drop out) on the ABS ECU, in fact blips on all the major ECU's. These ECU's will then store major system fault codes making them more at risk of accumulating enough minor faults to put up warning lights and switch to restricted mode operation.
In my early XM days I though stealer fault code reading was just a money grabbing scam. How wrong I was. Regular Lexia sessions of fault reading, recording and then clearing are a very sensible way to fault find in an XM and keep it running well.

hi John,

Thanks for those. Very interesting. As you say the Pug manuals seem to have more info than the Cit manuals.

On your last point, I'm beginning to agree. It is possible the repeated attempts at clearing my faults withthe Lexia suddenly made the car perform better. the engine management light no longer blinks randomly. the "Permanent Fault" is still there though.

I think this thread deserves to be moved to the Self Help files. I'll see if I can move the individual posts or if not then the whole thread. Otherwise I might move the files on their own to the Self-Help section.

Cheers

Hi Noz

I will see what I can find on 2.5 engine management as I an sure there are some useful ones. There are more ABS ones but with multiple colour diagrams.
These often take me over the file size limit unless I cut them down to single page files.

hi John,

Thanks for that. I have lifted the limit for attachments to 5MB. That should be enough I think.

Cheers

Hi Noz

Thanks for the file size uplift.
Have had to totally revamp my comments on the files as I had them mixed up.
Will see if I can add another PUG file here (will still need 3 or 4 sections).

It will not let me post more than one file per posting.
So the previous post has part 2 of the full document.
This one will be part 1 and there will be two more parts and posts.

Noz

Attached file should be a page from the Pug 2.5 VP36 manual covering ECU faults.
Cannot be sure the Pug ECU's were the same as the Citroen ones.
Two versions of the car, with and without keypad immobiliser.

Regards

John
