Hello all
Help!
I have got the front panel of my 94 vsx hatch trying to get the engine cooling fans to work.
I have taken one fan motor to the bench and tested it with a 12v supply it works.
I have had my test meter on continuity and traced one of the wires from the fan plug to the third relay from the left, looking from the front of the car,it's next to the white relay.
This wire goes to pin 5 on the relay, looking in the haynes manual this should be the heavy switched wire activated by the engine coolant temp switch.
as far as I can make out the other pin at the fan plug should go to earth,it does NOT.
Can anyone shed any light on the mystery of the fan wiring. It doesn't help with all the wires being black!
I suspected the fans were not working as I have not heard a peep from them,I arrived home the other day with the engine hot,I left it running until the temp guage got to the last white marker before the red and bottled out.
Any help appreciated before I start cutting the wires and rewiring the fans,or rather the wiring to them.

Thanks for that Ken,I hadn't realised I had posted for a similar problem when I had that doomed 2.5td estate.
I will have another go at it tomorrow when I have the light again...
The annoying thing is reading the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual, nothing seems to tie in with it?
I will splice into the wire before it gets to the plug and see if there is any voltage.
Thanks again Gary
